Description
The Operations Manager is an experienced professional responsible for planning, directing, or coordinating the production operations of Precision Branch located in the West Palm Beach, FL market. This role will be responsible for upwards to $6 Million in production work, achieving or bettering production hour budgets for contracts, work order gross margin budgets, and equipment budgets.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Works in unity with the Branch Manager by overseeing the following operations: Maintenance (Maintenance, Landscape, and) and Fleet/Facilities.
  • Supervises a workforce of full-time, part-time, and contingent employees performing activities in one or more of the following areas: production, equipment maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, and/or field operations.
  • Manages master production scheduling for contract maintenance, work orders, and other related landscape work as created by the sales force.
  • Manage Master material purchasing, acquisition, pricing, job allocation, job logistics, and inventory management.
  • Manages yard staff, including drivers, mechanics, and other part-time personnel, as required to meet the demands of the master production schedule.
  • Manages daily work ticket assignments for all crews via the master production schedule.
  • Supervises Field Supervisors and Specialty Services director in the proper approval of time, material tickets, schedules, efficiency, and quality.
  • Maintains and reviews job cost reports for grounds management contract work and work order work.
  • Manages the Master equipment repair and maintenance schedules, including preventative maintenance and equipment/small tools purchasing and replacement.
  • Assign work and monitors progress, orients and trains employees, interviews and recommends hiring of applicants, evaluates employees' work performance, counsels' employees and/or implements disciplinary action, and establishes work schedules.
  • Ensure quality and quantity standards are achieved in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Fosters a team environment by promoting open channels of communication; builds commitment to a common vision and establishing and maintaining positive communication with employees; implements proactive measures to ensure positive employee relations to maintain a union-free work environment.
  • Handles confidential and non-routine information.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of departments concerned with the production, pricing, or sales of products and services.
  • Review weekly hour reports, financial statements and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program/system improvement.
  • Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with department managers and corporate leadership.
  • Monitor departments to ensure that they effectively provide the services needed while staying within budgetary limits.
  • Oversee activities directly related to inventorying equipment and other assets.
  • Creates the company's mission, goals, and strategies with the President.
  • Performing all required administrative paperwork timely, accurately, and legibly.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by wearing proper uniform.
  • Arrive at work at the scheduled time.
  • Assist with snow removal operations as needed.
  • Support mission, goals, and strategies of Precision Landscape
  • Assist with other duties as needed.

Knowledge and Experience
  • The candidate must be proficient in the use of computers and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, supervisory skills, and mechanical aptitude are a must.
  • Candidate must speak fluent English. Basic Spanish, preferred.
  • Must be proactive in communicating and approaching issues and/or problems.
  • Candidate must have excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage production schedules in a rapidly changing environment with the ability to problem-solve and make informed and rapid decisions.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to manage other managers and supervisors as well as motivate and discipline where required.
  • Able to maintain confidence and manage a variety of confidential records.
  • Have not been convicted of a felony and is not a registered sex offender.
  • Pass an initial drug test and any future tests.

Certifications
This position requires that the individual be certified and licensed as follows:
  • Valid State Driver's License. Must maintain a driving record that is insurable by the company's agent.
  • Certified Commercial Applicator, preferred.
  • Certified Landscape Professional, preferred
  • Ornamental and Turf Pest Control, preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; crouch; stoop or kneel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
