What You'll Do!
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities and leading a team to achieve operational goals while maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and supervise production team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
Coordinate daily production activities and communicate expectations to employees.
Monitor production processes to ensure product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.
Prepare production areas by verifying equipment readiness and ensuring proper production flow.
Evaluate line performance, staffing levels, and employee placement to maximize productivity.
Train, mentor, evaluate, and, when necessary, discipline employees in accordance with company policies.
Coordinate employee training and certification programs related to production processes, food safety, OSHA standards, and company procedures.
Collaborate with USDA personnel to ensure regulatory compliance and address concerns promptly.
Partner with Quality Assurance to support food safety programs, product quality initiatives, and pre-operational inspections.
Ensure compliance with HACCP programs, SSOPs, USDA regulations, and all company food safety requirements.
Work closely with Human Resources regarding hiring, attendance, performance management, and employee relations matters.
Troubleshoot minor equipment and operational issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
Support Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Process Improvement (CPI), and other operational excellence initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production goals with business needs.
What We're Looking For!
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
1-3 years of experience in food processing, manufacturing, or production operations required.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Strong leadership potential and operational experience may be considered in place of direct supervisory experience.
Knowledge of protein manufacturing or poultry processing is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge
Understanding of food manufacturing processes and production operations.
Knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, SSOPs, and food safety requirements.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and production management systems such as CAT2 or similar software preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills are a plus.
