Job description

Your Opportunity as a Production Supervisor
The Production Supervisor is responsible for efficiency of production while preserving the integrity and quality of products. The Supervisor maintains a safe and productive working environment while coaching and supervising their team members. The majority of the supervisors time will be spent on the production floor identifying improvement opportunities, monitoring safety, production, quality, maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices and corporate standards.
Location: 1969 Victory Dr, Columbus, GA 31901 (Hostess Manufacturing Plant)
Work Arrangements: 100% on-site. PM shift 6pm-6am. Flexibility required. Willingness to work off shift (including nights, weekends, and/or holidays) and flow to the work as needed
In this Role You Will:
  • Coach and influence employees under your supervision.
  • Train and motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Directly manage all daily activities and long-term objectives of their department, in conjunction with managers across shifts or departments.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to identify and eliminate the root cause of manufacturing problems.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders on HR, Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve issues.
  • Ensure staff is following the work rules at all times. Ensure GMP compliance is adhered to at all times.
  • Deliver quality products and services through continuous improvement; Adhere to company standards and operating procedures.

What We are Looking For:
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • 1+ year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Working knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP is required.

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
  • BA/BS Degree in Continuous Improvement, Food Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required
  • Experience in food and beverage manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of how to troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment & processes to produce quality product.
  • Understanding of the unique equipment in a bakery and its operation.

Work Environment: This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be high.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • May push and pull heavy objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
