Job description

Job Description Step into a pivotal leadership role where your hands-on production expertise and troubleshooting skills directly impact output, quality, and on-time delivery. This is a fast-paced manufacturing environment working with elastomer products, where your ability to monitor performance, optimise workflows, and leverage SAP will keep operations running at peak efficiency. About the Role: As a Production Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day manufacturing activities on the shop floor, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to specification.

You will coordinate resources, guide operators, and act as the key link between production, maintenance, and management to resolve issues quickly and minimise downtime. Your performance monitoring and reporting will drive continuous improvement across processes and equipment utilisation. Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily production operations on assigned lines, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Allocate labour and equipment resources, adjust staffing and workflows as needed to meet production targets. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in real time, coordinating with maintenance and engineering when necessary. Oversee elastomer manufacturing processes, ensuring correct setup, operation, and changeovers of equipment.

Monitor production performance metrics (output, scrap, downtime, efficiency) and prepare regular reports for management. Conduct routine inspections of manufacturing equipment and work areas to maintain operational readiness and compliance. Provide direction and coaching to production operators, reinforcing standard work practices and operating procedures.

Support implementation of process improvements and new workflows to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Key Requirements: Proven experience supervising production or shift operations in a manufacturing environment. Strong hands-on experience with production troubleshooting, including identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Practical knowledge of elastomer or rubber-related manufacturing processes and equipment. Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems for production orders, materials, and performance tracking. Solid understanding of manufacturing equipment, workflows, and standard operating procedures.

Ability to interpret production data and performance metrics to drive operational decisions. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to direct, motivate, and hold operators accountable in a fast-paced setting. Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities on the shop floor.

Desirable Skills: Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, 5S, Kaizen) within a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with quality systems and basic statistical process control. Background in safety management and risk reduction in production environments

Previous experience in high-volume elastomer or polymer manufacturing operations. Working knowledge of maintenance coordination and basic equipment diagnostics. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required.
