Rotation: Only local candidates About the Role: As a Cement Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of cementing units and associated heavy machinery on oil and gas locations. You will support rig and field crews in executing cementing jobs to specification, ensuring equipment readiness and reliable performance. Your work will help maintain well integrity, protect the environment, and uphold high operational standards on every project.
Key Responsibilities: Operate cementing units, pumps, bulk systems, and related heavy equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety standards. Set up, rig up, and rig down cementing equipment at well sites, ensuring correct configuration and secure connections. Assist with mixing, blending, and pumping cement slurries, monitoring job parameters and adjusting equipment as directed.
Coordinate closely with rig and field crews to understand job programs, timelines, and site-specific requirements. Perform pre- and post-job equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to minimise downtime. Load, unload, and transfer cement, additives, and other materials safely, maintaining accurate counts and documentation.
Follow all site safety protocols, participate in safety meetings, and promptly report any hazards or incidents. Maintain clear, concise communication with supervisors and crew members before, during, and after cementing operations. Key Requirements: Proven experience operating cementing equipment or similar oilfield service equipment in a field environment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within rig and field crews, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Solid understanding of safe heavy machinery operation, including adherence to lockout/tagout and other safety procedures. Working knowledge of oilfield cementing processes, job stages, and basic cementing terminology.
Ability to read and follow job programs, instructions, and site-specific procedures. Physically capable of working outdoors in varying conditions, including lifting, climbing, and extended shifts. Willingness to work on-call, nights, weekends, and variable schedules as required by operations.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites. Desirable Skills: Experience with bulk cement handling systems and automated control panels. Familiarity with different cement additives and their operational handling requirements.
Previous work on land-based rigs and understanding of rig site layouts and workflows. Basic mechanical aptitude for diagnosing minor equipment issues in the field. Experience maintaining field logs, job reports, and equipment records.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Formal training or certification in heavy equipment operation or oilfield operations preferred. Current H2S, SafeLand, or equivalent oilfield safety certifications beneficial.
