Job description

Job Summary
Disassembly/Reassembly Technicians are a key part to the Rochester Collision team. They take apart and put together vehicles in sequence and document the process while working closely with the estimators in preparation for vehicle repair.
Salary Range: $16.00 to 25.00 per hour

Core Responsibilities
  • Disassemble vehicles in sequence; remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders
  • Compile detailed documentation of process
  • Assess and document vehicle damage; note additional parts and repairs required outside of original estimate
  • Load cart with damaged parts as well as clips and new parts
  • Maintain clean and organized work environment; ensure equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored
  • Maintain and wear all required safety and personal protection equipment
  • Ensure work goes through quality control before it moves to next step
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Complete quality and safety check; report any issues to Production Manager
  • Hand-assemble parts with use of bolts, screws and other fasteners
  • Attach original and new components to vehicle frame following documentation

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Technical degree preferred)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to learn new technology and procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Valid state driver's license & ability to be insured through RMC liability insurance required

Physical Demands
  • Operate hand tools and machinery
  • Move tires, body panels and other equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Position body to perform vehicle maintenance
