We are looking for a driven, hands-on Production Manager to lead our production floor operations and help elevate performance, quality, and efficiency across all departments.

Position Overview

The Production Manager oversees the daily operations of the entire production floor, ensuring all work orders are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role works closely with department leads, sales, administration, and executive leadership to maintain workflow, improve processes, and support operational excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Operations
  • Oversee all production departments, including purchasing, stockroom, shipping, receiving, and drivers

  • Manage and coordinate workflow across the production floor

  • Ensure all work orders meet company quality standards before advancing or shipping

  • Maintain production schedules and ensure deadlines are met

  • Stage and track jobs within the production management system

  • Monitor daily production activity and address operational bottlenecks proactively

  • Maintain secure handling procedures for confidential graphic projects

Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, coach, and motivate production personnel to meet performance goals and deadlines

  • Conduct daily production and status meetings with multiple departments

  • Support department leads with scheduling, workflow planning, and problem-solving

  • Address performance issues through coaching, evaluations, and corrective action procedures

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Quality, Safety & Process Improvement
  • Maintain high standards for production quality and operational efficiency

  • Conduct regular department walkthroughs to monitor safety, workflow effectiveness, and equipment issues

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal OSHA, MSDS, and workplace safety standards

  • Recommend and implement process improvements and best practices

  • Create daily production reports and operational documentation for leadership

Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Production Management, Print Management, or related field preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of production management experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the graphics, printing, or manufacturing industry

  • Six Sigma, TQM, or equivalent continuous improvement training preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced production setting

  • Strong understanding of printing and production terminology

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, reporting, and production tracking systems

  • Must be available by company cellphone during off-hours when necessary
