Production Group Lead


Summary of Position:

Supervise activities within the facility with directions from the Production Manager. Maintain standards of performance, measures progress, sets up and controls workflow and determines personnel needs based on production schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities:

◆ Coordinates production activities within the facility to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished.

◆ Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.

◆ Review production or processing issues with the Production Manager as needed.

◆ Monitor, control, and make recommendations to minimize labor overtime costs within production department.

◆ Work with the Production Manager in setting and monitoring standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.

◆ Assist in developing and implementing production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and creating production reports, to detect production problems.

◆ Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.

◆ Observe workflow and processes, and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure operators conform to production, processing, and/or quality standards.

◆ Provides direction, development and leadership to floor associates.

◆ Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and discipling employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures

◆ Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, observing control points and equipment, developing reporting procedures and systems, and facilitating corrections to malfunction within process control points.

◆ Maintains quality by establishing and enforcing production standards

◆ Other duties as assigned.

Education:

◆ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Seating Industry.

◆ Must have at least 3 years’ experience working in manufacturing environment as a Production Supervisor or Team Lead.

◆ Previous Tier 1 Automotive experience is preferred

◆ Previous experience in seating manufacturing is a plus
