Production Manager

This position is based in Mansonville, located in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada. As such, it is essential that the candidate reside within close proximity to the office.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Manager is responsible for all manufacturing operations. The Production Manager will manage production operations according to a defined yearly operation plan to ensure attainment of business objectives. Coordinate establishment of production goals and actively pursue efficiency improvement and cost reduction initiatives. Direct management of production employees while ensuring a safe and clean environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Direct management of all manufacturing operations and their associated employees.
  2. Ensure respect of corporate HR policies as well as the site Health & Safety policies for the production department.
  3. Ensure respect of corporate Health & Safety policies for the production department.
  4. Ensure respect of all environmental permits & discharge limits for the production department.
  5. Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring NexKemia product quality standards.
  6. Improve manpower and resource utilization within existing departments and processes.


Competencies Required for this Position:

  • Mechanical or Chemicals Engineering Degree. Could also be a non-engineer with a strong manufacturing background.
  • Minimum of ten years' experience as an Engineer or in similar roles with experience managing employees
  • Must be knowledgeable about occupational hazards and safety regulations
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures a plus
  • Must be knowledgeable of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Must be knowledgeable of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Must be knowledgeable of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, and leadership techniques.
