Job description

About G.L. Hunt

G.L. Hunt is the foundation repair company Texas homeowners trust when getting it right matters. Founded in 1987, we've built a 38-year track record of honoring our warranties and showing up the way we said we would. Today we run more than 13,000 inspections a year across DFW, Austin, San Antonio, and Waco, and we're growing fast — $38M trailing revenue, on pace to $45M this year, with bigger plans from there.

We compete against private-equity rollups and 40-year-old legacy operators. We win because we've modernized the business: real technology in the field (ArcSite digital scoping, Ziplevel precision elevations, ServiceTitan operations), data-driven sales execution, and an operations culture that takes pride in finishing jobs the right way.

The Role

As Production Manager, you own production for your market end to end. You manage the schedulers who coordinate every installation, you oversee the superintendents who hold quality and safety in the field, you build and maintain the subcontractor crew network that does the actual work, and you own the operational metrics that determine whether your market makes money.

This is a player-coach role. You're senior enough to set the standard. You're hands-on enough to be in the field when it counts. You'll report to the CEO today and will eventually report to our future Chief Operating Officer. This role covers the Austin Market.

What You'll Own

  • Scheduling and installation flow: your direct-report schedulers and production assistants coordinate every job from contract signature through completion.
  • The superintendent team: you manage 2–3 Production Superintendents who walk active job sites, hold quality, and own the field-to-customer relationship.
  • The subcontractor crew network: recruiting, vetting, onboarding, and retaining the crews that perform our work.
  • Production metrics: on-time completion, gross margin, callback rate, change order conversion, customer satisfaction.
  • Customer escalations: when a job goes sideways and a homeowner needs senior leadership, that's you.
  • Cross-functional coordination with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and the executive team.

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of production or operations management in foundation repair, concrete, residential construction, GC work, or a closely related trade.
  • Direct management experience supervising superintendents, foremen, schedulers, or crew leads.
  • Subcontractor management experience: recruiting, vetting, and managing sub crews; setting pay structures and holding subs accountable.
  • P&L or budget awareness: understanding of cost of goods, gross margin, and how operational decisions affect profitability.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred — most of our field crews speak Spanish.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean enough driving record to operate a company truck.
  • Comfort with technology: ServiceTitan, ArcSite, Excel/Google Sheets, digital photo documentation, scheduling software.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $95,000–$135,000 depending on experience and scope.
  • Performance bonus tied to market production metrics — gross margin, on-time completion, and customer satisfaction.
  • Company truck (fueled and maintained).
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.

Career path: we're building General Manager and Chief Operating Officer seats over the next 24 months. Strong Production Managers are the natural pipeline for both.
