Large Format Printing & Cutting Manager

Location: Austin,TX
Job Type: Full-Time
Shifts: Day & Night Shifts


We are looking for an experienced Large Format Printing & Cutting Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our large-format printing and cutting department.


This is a hands-on management position for someone with proven experience in large-format printing and digital cutting. We work with Roland DG Printing Machines and Summa Flatbed Cutters.

The right candidate will be responsible for scheduling production, managing staff, maintaining quality, troubleshooting production issues, and making sure jobs are completed accurately and on time.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily production workflow and scheduling
  • Oversee day and night shift production operations
  • Assign jobs and prioritize work according to deadlines
  • Supervise and manage production employees
  • Monitor print and cutting quality throughout the production process
  • Ensure jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule
  • Operate and troubleshoot large-format printers and cutting equipment when necessary
  • Review production files and job specifications
  • Monitor materials, media, ink, and production supplies
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues
  • Train, coach, and hold production staff accountable
  • Coordinate with sales, design, and other departments
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment
  • Help improve workflow, efficiency, and turnaround times
  • Perform typical management responsibilities, including scheduling, staffing, performance management, and quality control
  • MUST HAVE hands-on experience with large-format printing AND cutting equipment.


Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • Proven experience in large-format digital printing.
  • Proven experience with digital cutting equipment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of working knowledge with VersaWorks7, Summa GoProduce, Onyx or similar RIP software.
  • Strong understanding of large-format production workflows.
  • Dependable attendance and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Experience working with vinyl, banners, rigid substrates, adhesive media, and other large-format materials.
  • Equipment troubleshooting experience.
  • Previous production supervision or management experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and oversee both day and night shift operations.
