Job description

All About You

The Chemical Plant Manager is responsible for the supervision and leadership, reporting, and communication for all shifts of chemical plant operations, including the wastewater treatment process. This incumbent leads the chemical plant PMR2 team. You will ensure compliance with environmental regulations and the safety rules for each process activity, including industrial risks. You will ensure the timely delivery of quality products consistent with safety, engineering, and quality documentation. You are expected to use Saft excellence tools to improve manufacturing variances. You will develop the autonomous teams' sense of ownership. You will set and achieve goals for problem solving and closure of open safety and quality actions. The production manager also acts as a mentor to develop supervisors and team leads who report directly to you

Requirements
  • College diploma in chemistry, chemical engineering or related technical field. Alternatively, have significant work experience in a chemical process, including formal leadership training.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with chemical processes such as mixing, dissolution reactions, and wastewater treatment.
  • Experience with ISO 9100, Hazwoper, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience leading autonomous teams
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of LSS Green Belt topics
Responsibilities
  • Supervise all operators and team leads on shift
  • Implement production plan and flex labor to meet on time delivery goals and efficiency targets.
  • Improve process flow by using Saft excellence tools.
  • Meet variance targets.
  • Promote safety and achieve a safety culture within the chemical plant team.
  • Review industrial risks and ensure all employees are knowledgeable of their areas of responsibility
  • Meet all regulatory and compliance requirements for safety, health and environmental
  • Promote involvement in the autonomous team to highlight production and quality issues.
  • Monitor the team's hourly production and make changes as necessary to meet or exceed targets
