What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Production Manager in Animation, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Production Manager in Animation, you need strong project management skills, experience with animation workflows, and typically a background in film, animation, or a related field. Familiarity with production tracking software like ShotGrid, scheduling tools, and digital asset management systems is essential. These skills ensure projects stay on schedule, resources are efficiently allocated, and creative teams are supported for successful delivery of animated content.

Job description

About Seeking.com
Seeking.com is the worldโ€™s largest luxury dating platform with over 50 million members globally.
We are in the midst of an exciting brand transformation, redefining what it means to seek
extraordinary love and authentic connections. Our mission is to champion modern hypergamy
and empower individuals who refuse to settle for ordinary relationships. Weโ€™re building a world-
class content engine to tell that story, and animation is at the heart of it.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Explainer Animation Producer who can take complex ideas
about love, relationships, success, and human connection and transform them into visually
stunning, narrative-driven animated content. Think Bible Project-style explainer animations:
hand-illustrated, dynamically animated, deeply engaging, and built to make people stop scrolling
and start thinking.
This is not a role for someone who just knows After Effects. We need a creative storyteller who
can take a concept from a blank page all the way through to a finished, publish-ready animated
video. You will own the entire pipeline: concept development, scriptwriting, storyboarding,
illustration, animation, sound design coordination, and final production. You will be the person
who turns Seeking.comโ€™s brand narrative into content that educates, inspires, and converts.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Development & Storytelling
  • Collaborate with leadership and the marketing team to distill complex brand themes (modern hypergamy, authentic connection, high standards in love) into compelling visualย narratives
  • Develop original concepts for explainer animations that serve marketing, social media, editorial (Seeking Magazine), and brand awareness objectives
  • Write clear, engaging scripts that translate abstract ideas into accessible, emotionally resonant stories
  • Create detailed storyboards and animatics that map the visual journey of each piece before production begins
Illustration & Visual Design
  • Design and produce original hand-drawn or digitally illustrated artwork in a distinctive, brand-consistent style
  • Develop and maintain a visual language and illustration system for Seeking.comโ€™s animated content library
  • Create character designs, iconography, environments, and visual metaphors that bring ideas to life
  • Adapt illustration styles to match different content types (educational explainers, social media shorts, brand films, editorial features)
Animation & Production
  • Produce polished explainer animations from start to finish using tools such as Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, and/or similar industry-standard software
  • Animate illustrations with dynamic motion, smooth transitions, and kinetic typography that hold viewer attention
  • Coordinate with voiceover artists, sound designers, and music producers to deliver fully realized multimedia content
  • Manage production timelines, ensure quality control, and deliver assets optimized for multiple platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, website, presentations)
Brand & Marketing Integration
  • Work closely with the marketing, PR, and editorial teams to align animation content with broader campaign strategies and brand messaging
  • Develop animated content for product launches, awareness campaigns, investor presentations, and media outreach
  • Analyze content performance metrics and iterate on creative approaches to maximize engagement and impact
  • Stay current with animation trends, social media formats, and emerging tools (including AI-assisted animation workflows) to keep Seeking.com at the creative forefront
Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of professional experience producing explainer animations, motion graphics, or illustrated animated content
  • Demonstrated ability to handle the full production pipeline: concept, script, storyboard, illustration, animation, and delivery
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop; strong working knowledge of additional tools such as Procreate, Cinema 4D, or similar
  • A strong portfolio showcasing narrative-driven explainer animations with high production value (Bible Project, Kurzgesagt, TED-Ed, or similar caliber work)
  • Exceptional illustration skills with the ability to create original, hand-drawn or digitally illustrated artwork
  • Outstanding storytelling instincts with the ability to translate complex or abstract concepts into clear, engaging visual narratives
  • Experience with scriptwriting for animated content, including voiceover-driven formatsExcellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, content formats, and optimization for engagement across YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and web
Preferred
  • Experience working in-house for a consumer brand, media company, or content studio
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools and workflows for animation and illustration
  • Experience directing or coordinating with voiceover talent, composers, and sound designers
  • Background in branding, marketing strategy, or content marketing
  • Knowledge of character animation and more advanced 2D/3D animation techniques
  • Experience producing content related to lifestyle, relationships, dating, or luxury brands
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $110,000 โ€“ $150,000 annually, depending on experience and portfolio strength
Note: For an exceptional candidate who demonstrates the full creative range weโ€™re seeking
(storytelling + illustration + animation + production leadership), we are prepared to go beyond
this range. We want the best, and weโ€™re willing to pay for the best.

Additional Benefits
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible work arrangements (remote-friendly with occasional on-site collaboration)
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Creative autonomy and direct access to company leadership
  • Professional development budget for tools, training, and industry conferences
  • The opportunity to build Seeking.comโ€™s animation practice from the ground up and shape the visual identity of a brand undergoing a historic transformation
Location
Las Vegas, NV (Headquarters) โ€“ Remote or Hybrid arrangements available for the right
candidate. We value output over proximity.
How to Apply
To apply, please submit the following:
  • Your resume or CV
  • A portfolio or reel showcasing your best explainer animation work (link or attachment)
  • A brief cover note (no more than 300 words) explaining why youโ€™re the right person to build Seeking.comโ€™s animation identity
  • Salary expectations
Seeking.com is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
