The Specialist, Inventory Control works under the supervision of leadership. Monitors supply usage, sets min/max levels of supply, coordinates/conducts cycle counts, records and optimizes inventory levels as needed. They will ensure that all processes related to the control of an accurate and optimal inventory are followed and enforced. They are also responsible for the physical cycle counting process and daily reconciliation of inventory to ensure product availability sufficient to meet customer's scheduled deliveries and patient's needs. Responsible for the oversight of all inventory locations to ensure accurate levels are maintained to meet patient demands while working to control waste and overstocking.

Skills and AbilitiesEssential Technical/Motor Skills
- Computer skills, speaks clearly, inputs data, answers telephone, utilization of RF hand held terminals a plus, ability to communicate clearly in written form, proficient in various software applications i.e. MMIS, Microsoft Office Suite, Lawson preferred.

Essential Physical Requirements
- Lifting 50 lbs. Performs duties in Shipping/Receiving/Storeroom as needed.

Other Skills and Abilities
- Responsible for oversight, accuracy and accountability of all inventory locations and par levels managed by materials management.
- Conducts physical inventory cycle counts and reconciles all discrepancies.
- Is proactive in minimizing the potential for stock-outs and emergency orders.
- Audits inventory transactions throughout the ordering, receiving and distribution cycle, resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Works closely with Storeroom Specialist, Shipping/Receiving Specialist and Purchasing Department to ensure all department goals and scorecard measurements are met.
- Drives continuous improvement throughout all inventory related processes.
- Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships and technical skills.
- Works with Product Recall Specialist in recall situations to mitigate issues surrounding the recall.
- Will guide all caregivers as needed to achieve desired results from inventory processes. Assists in the structure and build of new locations as a Par or Asset.

EducationWork Experience- 3 Years - Proven experience of inventory control methodology using an automated inventory system - Required
- 1 Year - Medical inventory control experience - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications- Driver's License - Valid In State - Obtain Chauffeur's License (Not Required at Albany) - Required within 90 Days
Travel Requirements- Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required
