Job description

RS Industrial Arts collaborates with Architects, Design Firms, General Contractors, and other industry front-runners to plan, build, and implement custom architectural signage, environmental graphics, and branding solutions for a wide variety of projects that include interior and exterior building graphics, site and parking garage signage as well as custom architectural elements, specialized landscape features, and unique sculpture. We are currently seeking to add a Production Designer to our team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Interpret design intent packages and execute working drawings for quoting, production, and fabrication.
  • Prepare design intent (Design-Build) and working drawings for client approval.
  • Prepare artwork and digital files for production.
  • Calculate takeoffs and prepare bills of materials.
  • Execute quality reviews in various stages of our workflow.
  • Perform other tasks in the Design and Engineering Department as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience with CorelDraw.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite as well as standard Office software.
  • Knowledge of technical drawing conventions and symbols.
  • Knowledge of design principles, typography, and color theory.
  • Knowledge of materials including acrylic and aluminum.
  • Understanding of fabrication methods and processes.
  • Ability to read architectural plans and construction documentation.
  • 4 yrs of experience working in the signage and graphics or custom fabrication field(s).
  • A 2-Year college degree or equivalent certification.

  • Inventor, AutoCAD, Solidworks, SketchUp
  • CNC Routing and toolpath strategy
  • Large Format Printing and Prepress/Preflight Processes
  • Screen printing & color matching
