Position Description 


U.S. Soccer is seeking an experienced videographer to join our Federation content team. The Coordinator, Video Production will be tasked with telling the story of soccer in all forms across the soccer landscape. This includes highlighting the Federation's work in service to soccer, our members (referees, coaches, member orgs, etc.) and ultimately the best of us - our athletes, from our Youth to Extended National Teams.


This role will create dynamic and compelling video content designed to deepen fan engagement. The Coordinator, Video Production will be involved in all phases of production: shooting, field producing, and editing. This includes creating video content optimized for different platforms in a variety of formats. 


In addition to storytelling, will develop and execute video content to support the Federation's commercial efforts: growing Insiders, driving ticket sales, supporting kit launches, working with U.S. Soccer's partners, etc. They'll also support other U.S. Soccer initiatives, like Soccer Growth, Advancement and Soccer Forward.


Travel to team events, camps and games will be required, including holidays and weekends. This includes international travel, and a valid passport is required.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Film, edit and produce high-quality video content for a variety of lengths and aspect ratios optimized for different platforms, including U.S. Soccer's owned (web, app, DTC) and operated (social) platforms.
  • Capture footage at U.S. Soccer events, which can range from games and practices, to press conferences and media events, Coaching and Refereeing clinics, as well as U.S. Soccer's Annual General Meeting, and other events as needed.
  • Edit content as needed, including highlight reels, branded content, promotional assets and feature stories that align with U.S. Soccer's brand and messaging.
  • Conceptualize and ideate new video content series in collaboration with Content Strategy, Social Media and Partnership Marketing teams.
  • Ensure footage is properly organized and cataloged in U.S. Soccer's media library in conjunction with the rest of the Video Department.
  • Maintain upkeep and maintenance of U.S. Soccer video equipment.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices in video production, and emerging technology to keep U.S. Soccer at the forefront of innovation.

Requirements


Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in video production, including experience field producing.
  • Proven ability to execute a project from pre-production through post-production.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize both short and long-term projects.
  • Ability to focus and perform in fast-paced and high-pressure settings.
  • Experience in the field with digital cinema cameras, sound, and lighting techniques.
  • Understanding of industry trends and ways to engage an audience through video content.
  • Effective and quick decision making in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able and willing to travel up to 50% of the time both domestically and internationally.
  • Passport required.
  • General knowledge of soccer. 
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments. 
  • Must be able to connect "micro" details to the "macro" vision and mission. 
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook). 

Desired Qualifications

  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Experience in news and media is a plus.
  • Familiarity with publishing in a CMS.
  • Knowledge of video best practices for platforms, specifically including social media platforms.
  • Understanding of AP style and soccer terminology.
