Summary
Oversees the full assembly operation, sets production priorities, resolves workflow issues, and ensures compliance with operational policies, safety protocols, and quality standards. The Production Manager has excellent support from a strong supervisory team. As such, normal hours run from 40 - 50 hours a week, with a M-Fdaytime schedule with no travel involved. There is a strong work-life balance that exists within the role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and prioritize daily manufacturing operations.
  • Review production data and solve operational issues.
  • Develop and revise standard operational practices.
  • Lead and coordinate assembly operations across first, second, and weekend shifts to ensure alignment in production, quality, staffing, and communication.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Plating, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor manpower utilization, labor absorption, WIP levels, and production flow to meet operational and financial objectives.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and throughput.
  • Uphold Positronic's standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices.
  • Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • 3 years of experience working with connectors manufactured at Positronic.
  • In lieu of connectors experience, must have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field preferred.
  • In lieu of connectors experience, must have 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience in a high-mix or precision manufacturing environment. 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience preferred.

Physical
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Mostly computer work with some equipment handling.
  • Lifts 0-20 lbs occasionally; rarely up to 50 lbs.
  • PPE includes frequent use of safety glasses; gloves rarely needed.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in production zone with frequent exposure to loud machines and nitrogen-based chemicals.
