Technical Product Manager - Product Testing & QualityRole Overview

Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Specialized's Product Testing & Quality technology platforms, including LIMS, Field Test, and Quality Inspection systems. This role ensures testing, validation, and compliance platforms scale with R&D and NPI demands while protecting premium product quality.

How You'll Make a Difference

You will modernize and scale lab and field-testing platforms, enable endtoend quality traceability, reduce launch risk, and ensure testing systems accelerate-not block-innovation and timetomarket.

Core Experience Requirements - Deep LIMS Experience (NonNegotiable)

7+ years working with enterprise LIMS platforms, ideally STARLIMS
Hands-on experience with LIMS configuration, workflow design, sample lifecycles, test methods, and results management
Experience integrating lab instruments and automation with LIMS
Proven involvement in large-scale LIMS implementations, extensions, or replacements
Experience owning LIMS as a long-lived enterprise platform, not just a one-time deployment

Systems Integration Leadership

Direct experience integrating LIMS with R&D systems, PLM or engineering platforms, test automation and lab equipment, and data lakes, analytics platforms, or ERP
Strong ability to translate business and lab needs into technical integration requirements
Comfortable partnering with enterprise architecture, integration, and data teams

R&D / Engineering Domain Familiarity

Experience supporting product development, validation, or testing labs
Strong understanding of engineering and validation test protocols
Familiarity with iterative R&D workflows and managing evolving test methods as designs change
Background in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or high-tech hardware strongly preferred

Program & Stakeholder Skills

Ownership of multi-site, multi-year platform programs
Comfortable managing complex timelines, cross-system dependencies, vendors, system integrators, budgets, and scope
Acts as a strong bridge between business , engaging lab scientists, quality engineers, R&D leadership, IT architecture and security teams, and external vendors
Known for turning ambiguous and evolving requirements into actionable delivery plans

Change Management & Platform Maturity Growth

Experience modernizing labs from manual or semi-digital processes to enterprise platforms
Drives adoption and behavioral change, not just system go-live
Anticipates organizational friction and plans for it
Guides platforms through multiple stages of maturity over time

Technical, Data, AI & Automation Attributes

Strong understanding of data models, data integrity, and end-to-end traceability
Familiarity with validation strategies in both regulated and non-regulated environments
Experience with APIs, middleware, and event-based integrations
Applies data discipline to enable scalable reporting, analytics, automation, and future AI use cases
Identifies opportunities to automate test data capture, result publishing, and quality reporting
Comfortable reviewing architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and validation documentation

Education and Background

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Background in manufacturing or hightech hardware strongly preferred
