Job description

Project Manager – Lighting & Electrical Projects

IKIO LED is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage commercial lighting and electrical projects from award through final closeout.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership, anticipates problems, manages contractors effectively, and drives projects to successful completion while protecting schedule, quality, customer commitments, and project margin.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects from award through completion and closeout.
  • Review project scope, drawings, specifications, schedules, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and key milestones.
  • Coordinate materials, deliveries, site readiness, and installation activities.
  • Manage electrical and lighting installation contractors.
  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, vendors, warehouse, and internal IKIO teams.
  • Monitor project costs and protect project margins.
  • Identify and control scope changes and additional work.
  • Identify risks early and drive corrective action.
  • Conduct site inspections when appropriate.
  • Coordinate onsite superintendents or field representatives when assigned.
  • Manage project issues, punch lists, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and customer communication.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience managing commercial construction, electrical, lighting, or energy-efficiency projects.
  • Strong contractor-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of project schedules, budgets, scope, and cost control.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to recognize problems early and take ownership of resolving them.
  • Willingness to travel when project conditions require onsite involvement.

Commercial lighting or LED retrofit experience is preferred but not required for a strong construction or electrical Project Manager.

How We Manage Projects

IKIO manages projects nationally using internal Project Managers, qualified installation contractors, and field partners.

Not every project requires continuous onsite management. Some projects may require periodic inspections or closeout visits, while larger or more complex projects may have an assigned Site Superintendent.

Project Managers are expected to effectively manage projects remotely while knowing when onsite involvement is necessary.

What Success Looks Like

Successful Project Managers deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, at the required quality level, and with complete documentation and satisfied customers.

We are looking for someone who doesn't simply report project status—we want someone who owns the project and gets it completed successfully.
