Job description

Job Summary

We’re expanding our product portfolio across Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12, and Corporate security operations. As a Product Owner, you will be the voice of the customer and the owner of the backlog for one or more products/modules, turning market and customer needs into clear, prioritized work for the engineering teams. You’ll partner tightly with Product Managers to drive release goals, and collaborate daily with Engineering, QA, Product Operations, Go-to-Market, Customer Success, and Support to deliver outcomes that customers adopt and love.

What You’ll Deliver
  • Vertical impact: Features that measurably improve workflows for hospital security (HIPAA-aware), campus police & public safety (Clery, FERPA-aware), district/ K-12 operations (student safety/FERPA), and corporate security teams.
  • Adoption & value: Tangible increases in adoption/usage of new capabilities and reduction in time-to-value for target segments.
  • Release reliability: Sprint goals met, predictable release cadence, and crisp acceptance criteria that reduce rework.
  • Backlog health: Customer-validated, outcomes-based backlog with clear prioritization, dependencies, and capacity signals.
Key ResponsibilitiesBacklog & Delivery
  • Own and continuously refine the product backlog; write user stories and acceptance criteria; manage sprint planning, reviews, and backlog grooming.
  • Define release goals with the Product Manager; collaborate with Engineering and QA to ensure sprint commitments are achieved.
  • Perform functional validation/UAT and sign off on increments; track defects and drive fast resolution.
Customer & Market
  • Translate voice-of-customer and market input into features that work across multiple vertical markets (Healthcare, Higher Ed, K-12).
  • Partner with Customer Success/Support to mine feedback and usage signals; ensure product decisions reflect real-world workflows for campus, hospital, and corporate security teams.

Go-to-Market & Launch

  • Coordinate with Product Operations and cross-functional stakeholders (Sales Enablement, Marketing, Professional Services, Support) to ensure launch readiness (pricing, positioning, FAQs, training, rollout plans).
  • Provide field-ready artifacts (release notes, demos/scripts) and support early adopters.

Platform & Portfolio Context (nice to have)

  • Work with adjacent modules/products to ensure seamless hand-offs across the incident lifecycle; understand how capabilities integrate across Web Dispatch, iTrak, ICMS, Command & Planning, and TraQ7 where applicable.
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering partners (including dedicated offshore teams) using our standard SDLC processes.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years in Product Owner/Business Analyst/Product roles for B2B SaaS or enterprise software; proven delivery in agile environments.
  • Domain familiarity with security operations in Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12, or Corporate; understanding of data privacy/compliance considerations (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, Clery).
  • Expert at writing high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria; comfortable with Jira/Azure DevOps and product analytics.
  • Strong stakeholder communication—able to balance customer outcomes, technical constraints, and commercial goals.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional launches and enablement with Product Ops/Marketing/Sales/Services/Support.
  • Bonus: Exposure to our portfolio (e.g., REX/Web Dispatch, ICMS, Rhodium, QueTel/TraQ7), or similar safety/security products.
Success Metrics
  • Sprint goal achievement rate; cycle time/throughput; escaped defect rate.
  • Feature adoption within target verticals; customer satisfaction on new releases; time-to-value.
  • Backlog health indicators (clarity, prioritization, stakeholder alignment) and launch readiness scorecards.
How We Work

Product Owners partner with Product Managers at the release level to translate strategy into executable sprint goals and work closely with Engineering/QA to hit those goals—bringing customer context into daily decisions. We leverage fully-embedded engineering partners (onshore/offshore) within our SDLC to scale delivery while maintaining quality.
