Job description

The Senior Product Manager (SPM) is responsible for driving the vision, growth, and profitability of Data and Analytics products. This role oversees the product roadmap and backlog, prioritizing data-driven capabilities that align with business strategy and enable actionable insights. The SPM collaborates closely with data engineering, data science, visualization, and business teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions, ensures stakeholders are equipped to leverage data products, and engages with customers and executives to demonstrate value. Through strong market awareness and data-informed decision-making, the SPM ensures a competitive, impactful data and analytics product portfolio that delivers measurable business outcomes.

What You Will Do:

  • The SPM is responsible for the assigned digital product line's overall vision, growth, and profitability.
  • Responsible for creating, communicating, and maintaining the product roadmap and backlog to ensure visibility and transparency of planned work.
  • Responsible for the creation of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). Ability to communicate progress to leadership and explain why key results are/or are not being achieved.
  • Manages the identification of business opportunities that can be met through the development of software.
  • Make decisions and maintains a value-based prioritized backlog of opportunities for products that align with the business strategy and goals. Exercise considerable judgment to make key tradeoff decisions.
  • Develops business cases and economic models backed by data. Use product discovery techniques to move from idea to prototype.
  • Maintains awareness of third-party capabilities that provide viable product solutions. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
  • Partners with Design, Engineering, and Scrum Masters to work within a product team to deliver the product backlog.
  • Deliver results for key product metrics and goals that support business objectives.
  • Assist the product, engineering, and scrum team during regular ceremonies: feature review, grooming, sprint plans, and demos by being the voice of the customer and communicating the value behind each product and prioritization decision.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with stakeholders across the organization to communicate status, align priorities, and ensure operational support for go-to-market plans.
  • Engages in constructive conversations with - and delivers tough messages when needed - to key stakeholders, including senior executives, while continually building professional and productive relationships.
  • Stays current with industry trends as well as competitors' enterprise software capabilities.
  • Develops user stories granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint, elaboration of Epics and Features, creating and maintaining the product backlog, supporting user and application testing, and coordinate release activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Marketing, Business, Digital Platforms, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5 or more years in engineering or product line management of software products, analytics offerings, or Digital portfolios.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Leadership and team-building experience required.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments.
  • Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience budgeting, planning, and organizing.
  • A proven track record of increasing sales in a completion tool, well construction, or liner hanger business.
  • Experience in marine or offshore industries required.  
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE) Management System.
