Job description

Overview
Join a high-impact team at the forefront of bioprocess innovation, where you will define and deliver next-generation LC/MS-based process analytical technologies by translating customer needs and market insights into product solutions.
This role offers a unique blend of cutting-edge system design, development and real-world application, working both in-house and directly with customers to bring new technologies from concept into operational use. You'll collaborate across engineering, research, and customer teams to shape solutions that transform how bioprocesses are monitored and controlled.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of bioprocess LC/MS and integrated solutions from concept through to deployment, ensuring systems meet performance, customer, and business requirements
  • Own system requirements and architecture, providing technical leadership and direction to cross-functional engineering teams
  • Define and implement system integration and verification strategies, ensuring robust and scalable product performance
  • Act as the technical authority for designated systems, resolving complex technical challenges and driving key design decisions
  • Drive the evaluation and integration of new technologies, enabling transition from research into commercial products
  • Lead the transition of systems from development into real-world application environments, including customer evaluations and on-site installation, troubleshooting, and optimisation of pre-commercial systems (~40% travel)

Qualifications
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
  • Proven experience leading the development or integration of complex analytical or LC-MS-based systems
  • Strong system-level thinking, with the ability to define requirements, architecture, and integration strategies across hardware, software, and informatics
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with experience resolving complex technical issues
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multidisciplinary and global teams
  • Hands-on experience with experimental systems, including configuration, testing, and performance evaluation
