Overview

The Rain Bird Agriculture Product Manager is responsible for the Rain Bird Agriculture product development and execution of innovation and product marketing strategies. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong experience in marketing and innovation that is capable of insightful market analysis to identify the intersections of customer needs and white space opportunity. This person is expected to expand the Agriculture SBU's product portfolio to creatively solve customer needs related to agricultural irrigation. We are looking for someone who has proven results with commercialization processes, building comprehensive go-to-market strategies, and working with internal and external cross-functional teams to drive success, and grow sales and share globally.

Success will be measured by results managing cross-functional teams to drive product development and renovation initiatives while developing necessary marketing materials, on time and on budget, to meet revenue targets and solidify Rain Bird as the customers' best choice.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional new product development teams to deliver the highest quality products to the market, on time and on budget, and achieve revenue and margin targets.
  • Be the key driver for innovation-related marketing research activities for Rain Bird Agriculture.
  • Responsible for the development of go-to-the market strategy including the creation of sales and internal marketing materials with the objective of ensuring the successful new product launches.
  • Champion a "quality first" orientation across the organization for the Rain Bird Agriculture products; ensure we maintain and improve on our industry-leading quality reputation.
  • Build in-depth global knowledge of competitive share, positioning, and pricing programs to help drive sales and marketing strategies for new product initiatives.
  • Prepare hard-hitting product presentations and conduct training for our sales force, distributors, & growers.
  • Domestic and international travel to develop and maintain market knowledge (20-35%).
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of marketing and product development experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize many tasks and activities while delivering on time.
  • Ability to translate technical knowledge and information into engaging marketing and education materials.
  • Experience with new product development using a Stage Gate process.
  • Experience leading Marketing Research projects.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to convert large amounts of data to actionable insights.
  • Experience with marketing and/or selling through B2B channels.
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Undergraduate degree with an emphasis in business, marketing, or engineering.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with and passion for the Agriculture industry
  • Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing and plastic extrusion processes.
  • Proven track record for success managing new product development projects.
  • Proven track record for developing go-to-market plans and materials that drive sales.
  • MBA degree with exposure to marketing and program management.

Salary range for candidates based in California: $181,000 - $272,000

Salary ranges include base salary and annual incentive bonus if applicable.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
