Job description

Job Summary:
Emerson is a global leader in automation technology and software, and they are seeking a Director of Global Valve Product Management to lead global product marketing and portfolio strategy for their Valve Strategic Business Unit. This role involves guiding a $1B+ global valve portfolio and requires strategic leadership, commercial insight, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen customer preference for Fisher Control Valves.
Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership for global valve product marketing, portfolio management, and commercialization to support long-term growth and Emerson’s brand promise.
• Lead and develop a diverse global team of 15–20 marketing professionals, fostering engagement, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Set and execute portfolio strategies that drive year-over-year sales growth and profit improvement across the full valve lifecycle, from new product development to sustaining and obsolescence planning.
• Translate customer, industry, and market insights into actionable strategies using both data-driven analysis and qualitative research.
• Partner closely with sales, operations, supply chain, technology, and other SBUs to ensure effective execution of new product development, launches, and technology transitions.
• Guide pricing strategies, value propositions, and marketing programs to improve competitiveness and profitability.
• Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process through clear portfolio priorities and market-based insights.
• Evaluate competitive dynamics, emerging technologies, and potential acquisition opportunities to strengthen market leadership.
• Collaborate effectively in a global, matrixed organization and contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives across Emerson and Final Control leadership.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
• 7 + years demonstrated experience leading global product marketing or product management organizations within complex, technical or industrial environments.
• Strong business and financial acumen with accountability for revenue growth, profitability, and portfolio performance.
• Experience developing and executing product, pricing, and go-to-market strategies across multiple regions and customer segments.
• Ability to lead through influence in a matrixed organization and collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
• Comfort engaging directly with customers, sales teams, and senior leaders in critical and high-impact situations.
• A strategic mindset, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to balance short-term execution with long-term value creation.
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
Preferred:
• Experience within the final control or valve industry, or adjacent process automation markets.
• Global market exposure, including experience working across regions and cultures.
• Background in driving transformational change, including new product introductions, portfolio optimization, or technology transitions.
• Familiarity with structured product development, lifecycle management, and commercial excellence practices.
