Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this role is to design and maintain multimedia courses used to provide training to all credit union employees and support an environment that allows staff to provide consistent service excellence to members, employees and business associates as outlined in our mission, vision and standards of excellence. This is accomplished by planning and implementing employee education and training programs to support the strategic plan of the credit union.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SUPPORTING DUTIES: 

  • Plan, assess, design and create engaging and adaptive multi-media learning solutions that are aligned with corporate strategic initiatives and business needs.
  • Investigate and research training methods and procedures to determine new or improved training methods as well as new and improved content materials.
  • Create and provide training that is adaptive in content and delivery method to learning styles, topic, content complexity, etc.
  • Conducts training sessions or facilitates classes to implement new courses or content for existing curriculum.
  • Review training content for instructional design integrity and maintain a process to ensure all published content is relevant and current. 
  • Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of the Credit Union’s core system and software functionality as well as Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures for the various areas of the position. 
  • Collaborate with managers and subject matter experts to determine training and development needs, instructional strategies and business priorities. Make instructional recommendations about learning solutions (instructor-led, e-learning, and blended content) to address training needs and/or skills gaps. 
  • Measure and evaluate instructional solutions for maximal learning effectiveness and impact via regularly scheduled follow-up and user feedback. 
  • Monitor courses, materials and eLearning to ensure continuous improvement of training content and delivery methods, to include regular classroom observations.
  • Remains current on emerging technologies, methodologies, and enhancements to current learning technology and attends periodic seminars, forums and meetings to ensure currency of education. 
  • Manages multiple department projects simultaneously through proper time management.  
  • Ensures consistency in all company training materials, and that they comply with quality assurance standards as well as meet company writing standards and style manual.
  • Maintain all functions of LMS to include creating and uploading new content, reporting, and assigning learning activities.
  • Actively participates in corporate projects to provide input and gather information that may affect training.
  • Serves as a backup for Learning & Experience Specialist in the classroom or as needed within the department.
  • Utilizes a range of computer software applications to include Microsoft Office, Adobe, Camtasia, SnagIt and Articulate Storyline 3 and other software that may be needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Required Knowledge:  Overall knowledge of Training Principles specifically with knowledge of commonly used training methods, adult learning styles, and effective training tools. 

Required Education:  Education equivalent to a four-year high school education plus some additional post-secondary technical course work.

Required Experience: 6 – 24 months experience in a financial institution environment, specifically in the field(s) of teller, member service, loan with sales & service experience.

Required Knowledge: Experience writing curriculum and working with various eLearning software, Articulate and Camtasia.
