What Is a Producer?
A producer manages a performance project from start to finish. Projects may include live theater shows, a television series, films, and other productions. The producer determines the overall vision of the program and monitors all aspects of it to ensure the final work matches this vision. They oversee all the financing and budgets, the hiring of staff, and coordination of post-production work. Producers typically have the final say on all major decisions regarding the project.

What is the difference between Producer vs Director?
| Aspect | Producer | Director |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Role | Oversees project development, manages budgets, and coordinates production logistics. | Creates the creative vision, directs actors and crew, and oversees artistic aspects. |
| Required Credentials | Often requires experience in production management, business skills, and industry knowledge. | Typically requires film or theater training, strong artistic background, and leadership skills. |
| Work Environment | Works behind the scenes, coordinating various departments in studios or production companies. | Works on set or stage, directing actors and crew during filming or performances. |
| Industry Usage | Commonly used in film, television, theater, and music production. | Primarily used in film, television, and theater productions. |
