OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 13 and FOX 13+, the FOX Owned & Operated duopoly in Seattle, is seeking an experienced journalist and newsroom manager to lead our dominant morning news team as Executive Producer of "Good Day Seattle." The Executive Producer will be responsible for managing the editorial direction and overall execution of FOX 13's morning news block (weekdays, 5:00AM to 11:00AM; and weekends, 7:00AM to 10:00AM).

Duties/Responsibilities

Directly supervise a team of Producers, Associate Producers, and Writers to produce compelling and visually appealing news programs.

Ensure that news content is balanced, accurate, and meets the station's standards for high quality and journalistic integrity.

Lead editorial calls, manage rundowns, approve scripts, and contribute to other newsroom planning.

Work with primary hosts, contributing reporters, and other newsroom journalists to plan content and production of news programs.

Set weekly production schedules including scheduling editing time and planning shoots with photojournalists.

Recruit, train, and develop News staff.

Manage, evaluate, and monitor employee performance on an ongoing basis.

Demonstrate responsibility for all equipment issued by FOX.

Comply with all FOX Corporate computer requirements.

Comply with all FOX Corporate and station policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

In-depth knowledge of development and execution of local newscasts, criminal law, public records, investigative reporting, court systems, and government agencies.

Strong digital footprint and understanding of how to leverage content in the digital space to enhance broadcast products.

Strong writing and copy-editing abilities

Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently under daily pressure and successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Ability to work a flexible schedule that may require nights, early mornings, weekends, holidays, and emergency scenarios.

Education and Experience

Minimum three (3) years of experience in a TV newsroom as a major market producer or smaller market news manager.

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Radio/TV, or related discipline preferred.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer.

Regularly stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires early morning hours that coincide with the live programming schedule of "Good Day Seattle".
