What Is a Podcast?

A podcast is an online radio broadcast. A wide variety of institutions and organizations produce podcasts discussing numerous topics. There are podcasts about food, cinema, culture, current events, and politics, among other subjects. In addition to podcasts that are hosted on newspaper or magazine websites, many people record and produce podcasts on a freelance basis and host them on podcasting platforms, such as iTunes, Stitcher, and SoundCloud. These platforms can be free, or you may have to pay to use their services.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Podcast Producer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Podcast Producer, you need strong audio editing skills, storytelling ability, and familiarity with content planning, often supported by experience in media production or journalism. Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Adobe Audition or Audacity, as well as knowledge of podcast hosting platforms, is typically required. Excellent communication, creativity, and organizational skills help producers collaborate with hosts, guests, and other team members while managing tight deadlines. These competencies are crucial for delivering engaging, professional-sounding content and growing a loyal listener base.

What are some common challenges faced by podcast producers, and how can these be managed effectively?

Podcast producers often face challenges such as coordinating with multiple guests, managing tight production schedules, and ensuring consistent audio quality. Effective time management and clear communication with hosts and guests are key to overcoming scheduling issues. Investing in reliable recording equipment and using editing software can help maintain professional sound standards. Additionally, staying organized with project management tools can streamline workflows and reduce last-minute stress.

What does a podcast host do?

A podcast host is responsible for planning, recording, and presenting episodes of a podcast. They often research topics, conduct interviews with guests, and guide the conversation to ensure it is engaging for listeners. Additionally, they may handle or oversee editing, promotion, and interacting with their audience. The host plays a crucial role in setting the tone and direction of the podcast.

Job description

Job Title: Podcast & Digital Video Production Intern (Remote) Company: MOSH Audio / Location: Remote US Compensation: $21.30/hour / Duration: 3โ€“6 months / Commitment: approximately 10 hours/week The Role Are you obsessed with how stories are told in the digital age? MOSH Audio is looking for a creative, tech-savvy intern to help us produce and scale our content across podcast platforms, YouTube, and social media. This isn't a "get us coffee" internship.

You will be in the trenches of a fast-growing startup, helping us with every aspect of the business. You'll work directly with the founder and a small, mighty team to shape what our company becomes. What You'll Do Assist in research, prep for client pitches, talent meetings, tech beta testing, prototypes, pilots, admin and creative tasks associated with the end-to-end production of weekly podcast episodes and video segments, social media, newsletter content; follow music, audio, podcast, digital video trends and organize/share with team, as appropriate; help with any and all aspects of growing the startup.

Technical Basics Must have experience with Google Suite. Great if you also have experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Premiere, Descript, Riverside, etc., but not necessary. Reliable & Remote-Ready You thrive in an asynchronous, remote environment.

You don't need a manager hovering over you to hit a deadline. Curious & Scrappy You're okay with some amount of "startup chaos" and changing priorities. If you don't know how to do something, your first instinct is to find a tutorial and learn it.

And to ask questions. Why Join Us? Real Impact: Your work will be seen by people immediately.

We are highly collaborative, supportive, and open to promoting, crediting, and sharing knowledge and resources, as appropriate. Mentorship: Direct access to founder who has long history in entertainment industry. Flexibility: Work from wherever you want, as long as the work is top-tier.

Please submit these 4 pieces of information by February 13. We will start interviewing right away, so it helps to submitearly! hello@moshaudio.com / email subject re: line "MOSH Paid Internship" Link to your LinkedIn profile and/or personal website and/or social page: Link to one specific piece of content you've created/edited (and your role): Link to one of our MOSH Audio videos on YouTube and what you think is working & not working; how you would have done it differently, or helped it reach a broader audience; (4 sentences): The name of one podcast or YouTube creator you think is "winning" right now and a 2-sentence explanation of why: Thank you!

We look forward to getting to know some of you. Also: Please follow our MOSH Audio LinkedIn Company Page for updates and more opportunities! #J-18808-Ljbffr
