Job description

Pay Range: $15.75- $19.30

SUMMARY

Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers.  Responsible for performing produce merchandising tasks to include product stocking, pricing, inventory and special orders.  Ensures that all products put out for display represent quality, fresh produce to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Ensures that all customer special orders and deliveries are accurately fulfilled.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consistently to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
  • Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking customer upon fulfilling customer's request.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation, according to 5S standards, at all times. 
  • Assist with produce merchandising duties to include preparation of produce products for display, stocking and pricing of product and creating special produce platters to order.
  • Responsible for ensuring that quality and fresh products are displayed.  Removes substandard looking product and reports to the Produce Manager or first clerk.
  • Responsible for rotating and examining perishable product to ensure proper quality, code and condition.
  • Provide a high level of customer courtesy and service at all times with all customers throughout the store. 
  • Responsible to work in a manner ensuring that corporate and state sanitation and safety regulations are being maintained in accordance with company policy. 
  • May be required to be available for training and work in other departments. 
  • May be required to perform duties in the Produce department as per management request.
  • Ensure the accuracy of customer special orders (i.e.: vegetable and fruit platters).
  • Responsible for replenishing bulk food displays (i.e.: island and wall displays).
  • Responsible for operating various produce equipment including but not limited to product weight scales, juice and pineapple machines.
  • Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
