Summary
The Senior Manager - Vehicle Logistics Procurement will provide strategic directions to the logistics procurement services and manage projects related to network optimization and cost saving initiatives. This person will be responsible for leading projects improving profitability and supporting operations with FVL procurement with Ports, Rail, and Truck Haul-Away Transportation. They will also plan, delegate, evaluate progress, and manage projects in complex negotiations to effectively meet company objectives and budget goals. Some duties include but not limited to; facilitating cross-functional process, negotiation opportunities, and deliver continuous improvements.
Responsibilities
  • Create, manage, and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for marketing and creative services to meet business needs
    • Project Management: Develop and implement project plans to optimize our logistic network, reduce costs, and/or improve efficiency
    • Strategy and Sourcing: Oversee the efficient sourcing and procurement of goods, services for FVL Transportation team, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives
    • Oversee categories of procurement activities to maintain continuity of supply for current and future business needs
    • Vendor Management: Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and terms
    • Assess and perform due diligence with target vendors
  • Lead complex negotiations related to all commercial aspects of the contracts
    • Contract Management: Proactive management of development, implementation, and monitor procurement contracts to ensure compliance and performance standards are met
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms
    • Inter-Department Projects: Lead and participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring procurement strategies and resources are integrated across business operations
    • Provide leadership and guidance to team
    • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes to drive efficiency, streamline operations, and reduce costs
    • Lead cost efficiencies and cost optimization projects
    • Approvals and Reports: Coordinate with Business Development, Sales, Finance, Legal, internal consumers, and GLOVIS leadership to execute Contract approvals
    • Develop written processes and procedures for team that align with company policies
  • Provide market study insights and trends for related business and for required/potential outsourced categories of spend:
    • Market Studies/RFx/Proposal, and vendor evaluation: Conduct market research, oversee processing for demand in defining scope, definitions, bidder identification, and critical timelines
    • Process and monitor vendor evaluations to ensure procurement decisions are based on most accurate and up-to-date information
  • Budget and Vendor Evaluation: Oversee procurement budgets, ensuring expenditures stay within financial limits while identifying cost-saving opportunities
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and become trusted partners
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous supply chain efficiency and reliability
  • Legal and business writing : Identify and minimize risk, maintain compliance with legal and business requirements to support business objectives and collaborate with legal counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Support business development and Support:
    • Manage performance, train staffs, and skills needed to enhance current skills for future growth
    • Support the Procurement organization as needed and support management requests for information, analyses and insights
    • Support all department projects as assigned and management request for information, analysis, and insights
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
    • Provide regular procurement reports and updates to senior management
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Certificate/License related to the auto industry or logistics, Transportation, and/or DOT Regulations Preferred
