Job description

Overview

Responsible for overseeing field quality execution by ensuring inspection readiness, compliance controls, and standardized processes are implemented across projects. This position supports Field Quality Managers through coaching, audits, training, and site engagement while assisting teams in resolving nonconformances and performing root cause analysis. The Quality Manager drives continuous improvement by developing quality standards, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing lessons learned and Lean practices, while promoting adherence to the Quality program across the organization.

Location & Travel Details: You’ll get the opportunity to travel across the US, helping our team build renewable projects. This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be onsite at a project location. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 8-16 months on average per project. We offer designated daily per diem in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses.  A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.  Our company has one of the industry leading rotational programs as well, with routine travel home from the jobsite.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Funcations:

  • Participate in scope-specific pre-construction meetings to verify quality requirements and controls are properly established
  • Review and implement the Field Quality manager Task Matrix to ensure consistent field quality execution
  • Develop standardized Master Table of Contents (TOC) and project-specific TOCs for all scopes of work
  • Develop and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) including templates, inspection frequency, validation methods, and processes
  • Configure and maintain inspection forms and inspection details within Procore
  • Review and share quality metrics, identify trends, and implement preventive measures
  • Facilitate periodic meetings with Quality Directors and project teams to gather feedback on Field Quality Manager performance
  • Coach, mentor, and support Field Quality Managers upon site assignment and throughout project execution
  • Review Field Quality Manager performance evaluations and disciplinary actions; advise on staffing decisions including promotion, deployment, or reassignment
  • Coordinate and develop training programs for Field Quality Managers and Field Engineers
  • Travel to project sites to verify performance, provide training, mentorship, and operational support
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to investigate and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) in Procore
  • Support determination of immediate and long-term nonconformance resolutions, including engineering dispositions and warranty considerations
  • Coordinate with Procurement and vendors on cost recovery actions related to quality issues
  • Develop and facilitate Lessons Learned, Quality Alerts, SOPs, observations, and benchmarking initiatives
  • Implement and monitor quality best practices, controls, and systems across projects
  • Review and approve Lessons Learned and Quality Alerts in Zavanta and assist with SOP updates
  • Support development and maintenance of Smartsheet field documentation systems (Wind projects)
  • Lead development of quality-related training courses and ensure field personnel are trained on applicable scopes
  • Lead or support Root Cause Analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions, and risk mitigation plans
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies and problem-solving practices
  • Promote and communicate adherence to the Quality Program, Quality Plan, and associated procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in quality, communication, business, industrial technology, construction, science, engineering, or related field
  • Three years’ experience in Quality Management or continuous improvement in construction

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company’s Zero Injury principles
  • Ability to communicate complex and technical information clearly to both technical and non- technical audiences
  • Familiarity with quality control software and data analysis tools such as Procore, Project Sight,
  • Learning Management System (LMS), and Zavanta
  • Understanding of quality management system (QMS) and processes and procedures
  • Hight attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, or governmental regulations
  • Write reports, technical specifications, work instructions, procedures, business correspondence, and document quality related issues and activities
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in standardized situations
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Strong time management skills including setting clear deadlines, prioritization, task breakdown, organization, self-discipline, flexibility, and contingency planning
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
