The role…

Lead all regional procurement activities across the Americas (AM) region, ensuring alignment with global purchasing strategies while delivering cost efficiency, supplier performance, risk management, and sustainable sourcing. This role will serve as a strategic business partner to regional leadership teams, driving value creation through effective supplier relationships, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The role requires a seasoned procurement leader with strong regional market knowledge, experience in global organizations, and proven success in leading diverse, high-performing teams.

How you’ll make an impact…

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support regional business goals and optimize supply chain efficiencies.
  • Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure high standards of compliance and quality.
  • Work with various internal teams to ensure procurement strategies align with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Oversee purchasing budgets and forecasting, ensuring alignment with financial targets and market demand.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions effectively.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities for the purchasing team, fostering an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in market research to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and strategic supplier partnerships.

What do you bring…

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement and supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a regional or global leadership role within a large global, multi-national company.
  • Deep knowledge of sourcing practices, supplier management, and contract negotiation with a proven track record in delivering cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
  • Experience working in a multinational, matrixed organization and driving procurement transformation.
  • Familiarity with large ERP systems, with SAP as an advantage, and Pulp & Paper industry exposure is a plus
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma (LSS), with Green Belt certification considered a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish and/or German is highly desirable.
