VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider focused on vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and home healthcare. We provide vascular access device insertion services, post access support services including declotting, line removal, port access and venous access troubleshooting. VTP also provides continuing education, precepting and other educational support to clinical team members and customers.

Job Description

As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customer's clinical team to resolve venous access issues to facilitate the treatment objectives of the treating physician. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting depending on each individual referral, providing you with a unique career opportunity to observe different treatment protocols and patient challenges. As a VTP Vascular Access Nurse Consultant you will:

  • Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance
  • Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation
  • Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices.
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD's

Scheduling

In this role, Consultants visit patients in different customer facilities and therefore must be willing to travel to customer facilities and able to fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated based on business needs. Part-time (Per Diem) scheduling requirements include a minimum of 4 scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience
  • Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound
  • Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs (USGIVs)
  • Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
  • Must LOVE vascular access!

Compensation is based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.

Hourly Pay Range
$65—$75 USD
