Job description

Part-Time Commercial Construction Estimator

We are an established commercial construction company seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced estimator looking for a flexible, part-time schedule with the potential to work remotely after initial training.

Schedule: 16–24 hours per week
Experience: 2–5 years preferred
Work Location: Initial training will be completed in-office, with the possibility of transitioning to a remote or hybrid schedule once training is complete.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret commercial construction blueprints, plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Prepare accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial construction projects
  • Utilize PlanSwift and other estimating tools to complete detailed takeoffs
  • Analyze project scope and identify materials, labor, and other costs required for each project
  • Review plans for potential discrepancies, missing information, or areas requiring clarification
  • Assist with bid preparation and ensure estimates are completed accurately and on time
  • Maintain organized estimating files and project documentation
  • Communicate with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and other team members as needed
  • Manage multiple estimates and priorities while consistently meeting deadlines

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of commercial construction estimating experience
  • Proficiency with PlanSwift
  • Strong ability to read and interpret commercial construction blueprints and specifications
  • Understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and terminology
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple deadlines
  • Dependable, responsive, and able to follow projects through to completion
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
