Job description

Position Summary:

PELOTON Workforce is seeking qualified candidates on behalf of our client for a Procurement Buyer – Packaging position. This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring a variety of packaging materials, including corrugate, paperboard, flexible packaging, films, and labels.

The successful candidate will ensure the timely, cost-effective procurement of materials that meet quality, regulatory, and operational requirements. This position works closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support production while driving cost savings, supplier performance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure packaging materials, including corrugate, paperboard, flexible packaging, films, and labels.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met.
  • Lead procurement projects and support strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material availability to support production schedules.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve procurement issues.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Ensure purchased materials comply with quality, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Manage multiple procurement projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resolve recurring purchasing and supply chain issues in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or materials management experience.
  • Experience purchasing paper, corrugate, films, flexible packaging, or related packaging materials preferred.
  • Proven experience in vendor management and supplier negotiations.
  • Project leadership experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-driven, action-oriented, and confident in making business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Compensation:

  • Salary: $63,000–$78,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
