Position Overview

This role will support Castrol’s separation from BP and help address gaps previously supported by BP’s centralized indirect procurement organization. The Procurement Specialist will provide additional support to the existing U.S.-based Indirect Procurement Manager and help manage a high volume of sourcing and procurement requests during the transition period.

The position will support indirect procurement activities across multiple spend categories, with focus on Facilities/Facility Services, Marketing Services, Capital Expenditures (CapEx), and other indirect materials and services.

The Procurement Specialist will serve as a key partner to internal stakeholders, managing procurement requests from initial intake and prioritization through sourcing, supplier recommendation, negotiation, and contract execution. Most assigned sourcing activities will involve annual spend of approximately $250K and below, although larger initiatives may be assigned by global category teams based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for procurement and sourcing requests from Castrol USA stakeholders.
  • Triage incoming requests, gather and clarify business requirements, define scope, and prioritize sourcing activities.
  • Manage sourcing projects from initial intake through supplier selection and award.
  • Support sourcing across multiple indirect spend categories, including Facilities/Facility Services, Marketing Services, CapEx, and other non-direct materials and services.
  • Collaborate with regional and global category managers to ensure sourcing activities align with established category strategies, procurement processes, and company policies.
  • Conduct supplier identification, market research, competitive bidding, and RFx activities.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals based on business requirements, total value, risk, and other relevant criteria.
  • Develop supplier recommendations and communicate sourcing results to stakeholders.
  • Support and facilitate commercial and contract negotiations in partnership with Legal, Finance, category managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate contract execution and maintain appropriate sourcing, supplier, and contract documentation.
  • Support supplier setup, onboarding, and procurement system activities as needed.
  • Monitor supplier performance and support supplier relationship management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracting standards, and delegated authority requirements.
  • Assist category managers with market intelligence, supplier insights, spend analysis, reporting, and execution of category strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, sourcing effectiveness, and the overall stakeholder experience.
  • Manage multiple sourcing projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced transition environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years of sourcing and contracting experience required; 5+ years preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Strong hands-on sourcing and procurement experience.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships and expectations.
  • Ability to gather, clarify, and translate business requirements into sourcing activities.
  • Experience supporting multiple procurement categories.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • Ability to independently manage sourcing projects from intake through supplier award.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting **indirect procurement categories**, particularly Facilities/Facility Services, Marketing Services, and/or CapEx.
  • Contract negotiation and contract administration experience.
  • Experience with **procure-to-pay (P2P)** processes.
  • Experience with procurement and ERP platforms such as **SAP, Ariba, or similar systems**.
  • Experience working with regional and global procurement/category teams.
  • Experience with supplier onboarding, supplier relationship management, spend analysis, and procurement reporting.
Key Skills
  • Indirect procurement and sourcing
  • Strategic sourcing
  • RFx development and execution
  • Supplier identification and evaluation
  • Contract negotiation and administration
  • Stakeholder management
  • Business requirements gathering
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Procure-to-pay (P2P) knowledge
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Procurement compliance
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
