SUMMARY
  • Responsible for evaluating and assessing raw inventory and "WIP" levels in order to assure operational efficiency while maintaining customer service levels.
  • Ensures proper mix of gauges (MRP).
  • Reports to Plant Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures material to be received and in perpetual within 72 hours.
  • Reviews exception reports and non-conformance reports and resolves issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates outside processors slitting and transferring of material.
  • Schedules inbound appointments.
  • Creates set ups and optimizes yield % and run time with minimal arbor changes.
  • Ensures slit coils have been properly cost in a timely manner (including scanning slit coils).
  • Ensures slit coil inventory levels are within the company guidelines (min/max levels maintained).
  • Reviews receiving paperwork and assigns part numbers.
  • Holds periodic meetings with Plant Manager and Corporate Purchasing.
  • Responsible for coordinating all material rejects with Corporate Purchasing for credit.
  • Ensures timely disposition of rejected material (no longer than 45 days)
  • Ensures all manufacturing personnel follow ClarkDietrich safety rules.
  • Manages schedules for coil slitter and reduction equipment.
  • Communicates WIP (slit coil) lead times to sales and production scheduling.
  • Any other duties required by supervisor.
SAFETY
  • Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Wears and maintains all required PPE.
  • Keeps assigned work area clean at all times.
  • Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation.
  • Safely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications.
