Description:
Position Title: Sterile Processing Supervisor
  • Typical hours 1p-9:30p ; variable
  • No working weekends or holidays unless we have a special project and would rotate resource call with the other supervisors
  • Primary function is to support education of all colleagues, trainees and new hire orientees. Will also cover other supervisors when off on PTO as needed.

Position Summary:
Communicates and collaborates with Surgery regarding Operating Room (OR)
instrumentation, case cart needs and proactively reviews the daily schedule for coordination of instrumentation needs.
What you will need:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing department
  • Certification in Central Sterile Processing

Preferred:
  • Graduate from a sterile processing program
  • Membership in Central Sterile Processing Professional Organization

What you will do:
  • Communicates and collaborates with Surgery regarding OR instrumentation, case cart needs and proactively reviews the daily schedule for coordination of instrumentation needs.
  • Contributes to the OR efficiency by understanding concepts and principles of sterilization and disinfection and identifying process improvement initiatives.
  • Oversees shift operations and resolves problems.
  • Facilitates scheduling, staffing and daily adjustments based on department needs and coordinates the daily assignment work to staff.
  • Facilitates workflow of department and instrumentation turnover by coordinating cleaning, processing and sterilization of instrumentation as needed.
  • Develops daily, monthly and/or yearly measurable goals.
