Job Overview
The Server is responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and efficient table service to guests in a full-service restaurant environment. This role delivers a positive guest experience by accurately taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest needs are met throughout the dining experience in accordance with Denny's brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Hospitality
  • Greet guests promptly and courteously.
  • Present menus, explain menu items, and answer guest questions.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
  • Deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues promptly.
  • Thank guests and invite them to return.

Order Accuracy & Service Execution
  • Ensure orders are prepared and delivered accurately.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure proper timing and order flow.
  • Monitor table needs, including refills, condiments, and additional requests.
  • Process guest payments accurately and securely.

Restaurant Operations
  • Maintain clean and organized tables, dining areas, and service stations.
  • Complete assigned side work duties such as restocking supplies, cleaning, and setup.
  • Follow cash handling and payment processing procedures.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Perform cleaning tasks including, but not limited to, clearing and sanitizing tables, sweeping and mopping floors, restocking service areas, removing trash, cleaning restrooms as assigned, and any other cleaning or side work tasks assigned by management.

  • Work collaboratively with other servers, hosts, cooks, and management.
