Job description

Purpose: The Project Manager will be responsible for working in conjunction with key account executives to ensure success of new business development programs for strategic accounts. The Project Manager serves as the primary coordinator for strategic customer opportunities. From concept and estimates through development and product launch. Core job functions include providing innovative solutions to customer challenges through project management, consultative technical sales, estimating, and world-class customer service. Ideal candidates will be adept at problem-solving, possess a strong technical background and have a strong desire to drive results. Although this is primarily an inside position, some travel will be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages product development & estimating process for new parts for assigned market, ensuring on-time delivery and proactively working to increase win percentage
  • Serves as primary program manager for assigned R&D/high risk quotes and program launches-responsible for maintaining project dashboard and driving accountability through all functional groups at JBC to ensure we meet or exceed customer delivery expectations
  • Leads cross-functional project teams to design manufacturable converting solutions through collaboration with engineering, quality, operations, suppliers, and customers.
  • Uses ERP, CRM and quotation management system on a daily basis, maintaining accurate, up-to-date database
  • Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of customer trends
  • Conducts phone conferences and face-to-face client meetings
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of industry trends, in particular:
    • Materials [foams, tapes, insulation, foil, etc.]
    • Material vendors
    • Converting Processes
    • Standards
  • Attendance in vendor meetings, industry trade shows, etc.
  • Supports and contributes to organizational and customer-focused continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain is preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred, but not necessary.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to identify and track, large deals with navigation of senior-level decision makers
  • Detail oriented and good communications skills required
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel & Word required.
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems preferred.

  • Light to moderate physical effort required on a constant basis

Work Schedule:

  • Normal Schedule - 8 am to 5 pm; Monday thru Friday; May vary with business needs.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
