Job description

The Process Engineer – Logistics & Warehouse Operations supports Logistics through engineering analysis, process design, and continuous improvement across forklift systems, warehouse layout, material flow, and inventory storage standards. This role partners closely with Logistics leadership to provide data-driven analysis and structured process improvements that reduce risk, downtime, and cost while improving throughput, labor efficiency, and operational consistency.


Key Responsibilities:
Forklift & Equipment Optimization
• Analyze forklift and pallet jack utilization and recommend improvements
• Develop KPIs for usage, downtime, maintenance cost, and lifecycle performance
• Support asset justification (ROI, capacity modeling, standardization)
• Assist with lifecycle planning, replacement strategy, and vendor alignment

Maintenance & Reliability Coordination
• Partner with Maintenance to support preventive maintenance compliance
• Analyze reliability trends and recommend corrective actions
• Support improvements in parts availability and service response

Safety & Compliance
• Support forklift safety initiatives with Logistics and Safety leadership
• Assist in standardizing operator certification tracking and training
• Identify risks through data analysis and support engineering controls

Warehouse Layout & Material Flow
• Support optimization of warehouse layout for efficiency, safety, and space utilization
• Develop and recommend best practices for traffic flow and storage standards
• Assist with capacity planning and space modeling

Process Optimization & Labor Efficiency
• Design and recommend standard work for warehouse and forklift operations
• Analyze labor utilization and support staffing models based on volume and workflow
• Conduct route mapping and travel time studies to reduce congestion and wasted movement
• Recommend improvements to work assignments and material flow
• Identify bottlenecks and support throughput improvements
• Develop and track performance metrics (moves/hour, travel time, utilization)
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and scalability

Automation & Special Project
• Serve as engineering owner for automated vehicle initiatives (e.g., Starpak project)
• Coordinate integration with Operations, Maintenance, IT, and vendors
• Ensure alignment with Logistics leadership on operational requirements and deployment
• Support development of digital tools for assets, performance, and operator tracking


• Master’s degree with 2+ years of industry experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 3–7 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field supporting warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills (Excel, data modeling, KPI development)
• Experience with material handling systems, layout optimization, and safety standards
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and Finance
