JOB TITLE: PROCESS ENGINEER (Asset Engineer)

Location: Pasadena TX

JOB PURPOSE

The primary role of this position is program development and implementation of a Process Engineering strategy, five year capital planning, process optimization and some daily operation support.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

All job activities should be executed in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the INEOS 20 Principles.

Embrace INEOS Life Saving Rules in all aspects of the job.

Responsible for the integrity management of assigned equipment.

Complete all required training on schedule.

Develop and implement a Unit Health Monitoring program.

Support integrity of critical assets and protective systems, maintenance, and periodic

review of the critical equipment list, operating/integrity envelopes, applicable damage mechanisms, and inspection plans.

Define and periodically review Operating Envelopes of assigned equipment.

Assist with development of five-year capital plan.

Develop long term process engineering improvement strategy for the site.

Write and implement MOCs, including small and large Capital Projects.

Process Engineering resource for PHA's.

Establish communications with appropriate operations personnel.

Report investigation results with appropriate conclusions and recommendations.

Main liaison between site and C3D Process Technology Group.

Assist with tracking yields, production, and feed stock information into month end closing. Back up for the month end closing.

Site representative for the C3 Process Safety Handbook.

Maintain open communications with plant operators to ensure continuity of safe, efficient operations.

Work with Operations department to troubleshoot operational issues and identify process problems.

Assist in developing and reporting Production KPIs, monitor catalyst performance, identify process bottlenecks, use process data to identify long term trends and shifts

Work with the controls group on Alarm Management and Rationalization efforts and implementing controls improvements to support Smart Manufacturing efforts.

Provide input for daily shift Instructions.

Develop process flow diagrams.

Drive alarm management to completion and provide support for continuing success.

Solicit input from all appropriate resources (engineering, operations, and maintenance) and balance conflicting requirements.

Direct, coordinate, or participate in Process Safety Review or Management of Change process.

Initiate communications with affected areas and produce progress reports.

Lead RCA's as needed.

Provide engineering assistance and expertise to Operations and Maintenance as needed.

Assist in meeting regulatory requirements assigned to the production facility including EPA/Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), OSHA, and DOT regulations.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering

Minimum of 5 years of experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to climb fixed ladder cages at heights of 30 ft. at a time. Total of 200 ft. (employee may need ladders as means of egress during emergency).

Ability to climb 6 flights of stairs.

Ability to enter enclosed spaces through 18" man-way for cleaning and inspection purposes.

Ability to lift 50 lb.

Ability to wear required PPE: Hardhat, safety glasses, chemical goggles, face shield, rigid safety shoes/boots, full/half face cartridge masks.

Ability to work length of time outdoors/ inclement weather.

Job specific: Climbing, balance, bend/stoop, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying.

Need to evaluate understanding of proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.
