Job description

Hendrickson is a supplier of truck suspension systems and components as well as an aftermarket supplier for various truck components to the heavy-duty vehicle market. Due to a promotion, Hendrickson has an opportunity Manufacturing Engineer in our current products group for our facility just North of Fort Wayne, IN located in Kendallville, Indiana.
Position Purpose:
Develop and implement engineering solutions to the shop floor processes. Develop operator detail instructions for processes. Assist operations group with continuous improvement objectives on a regular basis. Active communication with hourly group assisting with needs and process improvements. Ability to utilize a structure problem solving approach when working to resolve issues
Essential Functions:
  • Support manufacturing to protect the customer
  • Member of product launch teams for manufacturing engineering support
  • Decrease setup and changeover times.
  • Develop and maintain operator work instructions for all products
  • Define future technology requirements
  • Assist in defining long-range capital planning
  • Improve effectiveness of product and process change method
  • Optimization of labor by implementing concurrent work
  • Assist product launch teams with Industrial Engineering support
  • Improve manufacturing capabilities and capacities
  • Validate routers for specified work centers
  • Analyze existing procedures & processes for improvements -
  • Develop and maintain operator work instructions for Kitting/Distribution operations and assigned Assembly Cells.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Engineering internship or Co-op experience Preferred
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a time bound schedule required
  • AutoCad, Solid Edge, MSOffice, Mastercam, Mpact, or similar software/programming experience needed
  • Automotive background a plus
  • Assembly experience is an advantage
