Job description

Job Title: Operator Technician

**Compensation:**

The hiring rate for this position is $23/hr with the potential shift differentials of $1 for Swing Shift and $2 for Night Shift

Primary Purpose:

Supporting the Core Values of Passion, Teamwork and Excellence and under the direction of the Operations Team Lead and/or Department Manager, the Operator Technician is responsible for high speed manufacturing of metal food packaging through machine operation, maintenance and

troubleshooting.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Advanced machine operation including independent troubleshooting and machine change overs.

• Perform daily / department Safety checks to ensure safe work habits exist and correct hazards.

• Perform all required quality activities and related documentation to ensure meeting all customer expectations.

• All daily maintenance activities, preventative/predictive maintenance work orders and breakdown repairs.

• Assist Advanced Operator Technicians with Installation, Replacement and Mechanical Operational improvements.

• Maintain and improve on all established Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence activities and programs.

• Support all inventory management activities as assigned.

• General Forklift operation and material movements as assigned.

• Timely support of all hold material processing including sorting and inspection.

• Material receipt, storage and inventory maintenance of chemicals used in the processing of metal food packaging.

• General Housekeeping and 5S of assigned areas.

• Shall understand the Food Safety Policy, GMP's, HACCP Principle and Food Safety Standard.

• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong written/verbal communication skills in English as a single business language.

• Computer skills at level that can support the ability to complete inventory-based transactions.

• Demonstratable adherence to the Core Values of Passion, Teamwork and Excellence.

• Adherence to the Code of Conduct.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices.

Education, Experience and Core Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting required.

• Forklift and Material handing experience preferred.

• Mechanical Aptitude and Proficiency as verified through standardized mechanical testing.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision as well

as color recognition. Good hand eye coordination is necessary.
