Service Sales Manager

OVERVIEW:

The Service Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable aftermarket sales growth for GIW slurry pumps and related services. Based in Thomson, Georgia, this position develops and maintains relationships with mining, aggregates, dredging, and industrial customers, promotes GIW service capabilities, and identifies opportunities for repairs, rebuilds, upgrades, inspections, field service, and replacement parts. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to customers while supporting the reliability and performance of the GIW installed base.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers throughout assigned territories.
  • Promote GIW service capabilities, including inspections, field service, pump rebuilds, repairs, upgrades, maintenance programs, and service agreements.
  • Identify and develop aftermarket sales opportunities within the GIW installed base.
  • Conduct customer visits to assess equipment performance, understand operational challenges, and identify service solutions.
  • Collaborate with service, engineering, and operations teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Prepare quotations and proposals in accordance with company policies and pricing guidelines.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms while maintaining profitability objectives.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Support outage planning, shutdown activities, and emergency service requirements as needed.
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting, product recommendations, and lifecycle planning for GIW equipment.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and opportunities within the company CRM system.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Represent GIW professionally at customer sites, industry events, and trade shows.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field preferred; or
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience.

Experience

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in technical sales, field service, engineering, maintenance, or operations within mining, aggregates, dredging, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience with slurry pumps, slurry transport systems, or mining equipment strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and identify aftermarket service opportunities.
  • Experience working directly with maintenance, reliability, and operations personnel.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of slurry pump applications, pump hydraulics, wear components, and maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of mining, mineral processing, aggregates, and dredging operations.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance documentation.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer relationship management and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to access customer facilities, including mining and industrial environments.
