Associate, Process Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Gateway & Network Billing Specialist to manage, optimize, and reconcile our payment gateway and card network billing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking, auditing, and processing complex transaction fee structures from major card networks (Visa, Mastercard) and payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Authorize.net). You will ensure accurate revenue settlement, eliminate billing leaks, and partner with finance, engineering, and product teams to optimize processing costs.


General Responsibilities:

  • Network & Gateway Fee Auditing: Review, reconcile, and audit complex monthly invoices from payment gateways, acquiring banks, and card networks (interchange fees, assessment fees, gateway processing fees).

  • Transaction Billing & Settlement: Oversee end-to-end payment gateway transaction billing, ensuring accurate fee application, payout reconciliation, and revenue assurance across all payment methods.

  • Discrepancy & Dispute Resolution: Identify, investigate, and resolve billing anomalies, interchange downgrades, chargeback fees, and unexpected network penalties alongside processor account managers.

  • Financial Reporting & Analytics: Build and maintain financial dashboards to track processing cost trends, cost-per-transaction metrics, and margin impacts to present actionable insights to leadership.

  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate current payment routing and fee schedules to recommend cost-reduction strategies and eliminate manual reconciliation workflows.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Product, and Finance to ensure new billing features, payment methods, or gateway integrations are configured correctly for accurate fee tracking.

  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all billing practices and data handling conform to PCI-DSS standards and relevant financial compliance regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office or G Suite

  • At least 1 year of process management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, or Project Management certification

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
