Job Description

Collaborate with plant operations, manufacturing services, manufacturing engineering and industrialization teams on the integration, interconnection and maintenance of manufacturing lines within a manufacturing plant. Support the commissioning and troubleshooting of industrial controls equipment and automation systems used in the manufacturing and warehousing of components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies within a Rockwell Automation manufacturing facility. Look for continuous improvement and willing to work with multiple process technology owners to support our manufacturing standards.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Improve and standardize manufacturing process equipment for existing products and new product introductions
  • Identify productivity savings opportunities through insourcing programs, process improvement, increasing line capacity or other efficiency enhancements
  • Lead teams to create standard assembly processes and technologies. Work with design and industrialization teams to identify technologies and processes to meet the needs of new product designs
  • Establish business relationships with internal customers and external suppliers to support develop and qualify equipment for operation's manufacturing space
  • Build competencies and subject matter expertise in automated wire processing equipment
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires of 5 years of experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Automation Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Established and demonstrated experience with wire and cabling processing tools and equipment (cutting, stripping, crimping, marking and labeling)
  • The ability to read and interpret complex electrical and electronic circuit schematics, electrical and mechanical equipment design drawings, bills of materials, specifications, procedures and technical manuals
  • Willingness to travel 5%-10% of the time to participate in equipment validations, attend trade shows or on rare occasions to support another plant.
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors, integrators and OEMs regarding equipment procurement
  • A mindset to evaluate important factors (e.g., costs, benefits,, and risks) and all reasonable alternatives before making decisions
  • With your experiences to create documents in the form of instruction, best practices, training and communication that help propagate knowledge
  • Experience training other responsibilities on standard processes that are developed for Rockwell Automation and, where applicable, guide consistency of knowledge
  • Project Management basics (tasks, milestones, owners)
  • CAD experience creating layouts and wiring diagrams
