Process Engineer- Metallurgy Sales Summary SMS group Inc. supplies and maintains equipment, and provides process knowledge, to the metals industry. The process engineer would provide process engineering and improvement support within our company and with our customers to achieve product and project objectives.   • Interdisciplinary work with digital, electrical & automation, mechanical / fluids engineering, and service departments within our company
  • Development of new products and continuous improvement of existing products
  • Assist in execution of projects
  • Participation in engineering studies, which examine our customers facilities in depth and provide recommendations for process and equipment improvements
  • Field service work with our customers to troubleshoot problems associated with their metals manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Commissioning of equipment at our customers facilities, as required
  • Mixture of office and field work
  • Business travel (domestic and international) required
  • Support proposal preparation with metallurgical and process calculations
  • Prepare technical presentations of our technology to prospective customers
What you'll need
  • Bachelor of Science - Engineering degree (mechanical and/or material science engineering is preferred)
  • 5 years experience in manufacturing is preferred
  • Steelmaking & continuous casting knowledge is preferred
  • Steelmaking and/or continuous casting experience
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and display creativity, strong problem solving skills, data analysis skills, and work well in a diverse team environment
  • Candidates should have a strong ability to multitask
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, with a strong emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
