About The Opportunity

Design and implement manufacturing processes, equipment and plants (pilot to fully operational) to achieve production goals. Cradle to grave processing support for New Product Development and legacy tooling support at the plant level.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience: Specialized depth & breadth of experience; Develop and improve manufacturing methods consistent with the principles of scientific mold and process control.

  • Work assignments: Specialized and strategic work assignments.

  • Problem solving: Extensive experience in solving complex problems; Manage plant, equipment, and process improvement projects, as assigned.

  • Issue resolution: Develops others' comprehension on solving complex issues. Collaborate with operations, technical and hourly personnel to optimize processes.

  • Decision making: Risk based decision making under undefined conditions; Manage the process to optimize press cycle time and consistency.

  • Leadership: High level of authority & works autonomously; may facilitate work of others but may not be a supervisor; Demonstrates a tendency to act instead of waiting for permission; Champion team decisions over individual agendas; Drives group dynamics to ensure a productive team environment. Assist in the development and manufacture of new tools to minimize 'time to market' while maximizing cost effectiveness.

  • Participate in the selection of processes and mold design considerations for new products.

  • Accountability: High level of personal accountability and skill at holding others accountable to their commitments.

  • Lead various scrap improvement activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related Engineering field (experience to be considered in lieu of education).

  • RJG Training Certification - Master Molder I & II or AIM Molding 3.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.

  • Additional skills/strategic mindset: Proposes & recommends best practices & innovation, grasps the cause-and-effect relationships among different business functions and overall performance. Ability to handle the stress of working with others.

  • Communication skills: Advises and coaches on communication techniques; Coaches others in preparing presentations; Specialized interpersonal skills.

  • Interpersonal skills: High level of personal accountability and skill at holding others accountable to their commitments. Promote LEAF and employee engagement activities to create and maintain a positive work environment.

  • Ability to be available outside of normal work hours.

  • Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop others.

  • Ability to lead by example.

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.

  • Ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.

  • Ability to apply technical, scientific, and mathematical knowledge to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective.

  • Knowledge of existing and planned approaches for methods for manufacturing products or product components.

  • Knowledge of methodologies, tools, and techniques for designing, building and managing the manufacture of new tools.

  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of the employees, environment and site.

Ideally this position will be located near one of our plants and or/home office.

Travel Required:

  • 40% - 60% travel.
