UCT is looking for a talented Mgr, Engineering to join us in Austin, TX!

A Process Engineering Manager develops and optimize economical industrial processes to make the huge range of products on which modern society depends. A Process Engineering Manager may work in small, medium and large businesses. The work is concerned with chemical and mechanical processes in which customer materials undergo change and involves scaling up processes from the laboratory into the processing plant. Environmental protection and health and safety aspects are also significant concerns. The ideal candidate must have good people and organizational management skills with demonstrated leadership ability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and maintains a balanced department possessing the necessary flexibility, technical skills and experience to support short- and long-range requirements effectively.
  • Manages Engineering personnel, establishing priorities, schedules projects and duties of Senior Process Engineer, Process Engineer, Engineering Tech, and Lab Tech.
  • Ensures Engineering personnel perform required tasks, as required, on time as well as balances workloads across regions if required.
  • Leads technical customer interface as required.
  • Train Engineers and Technicians to proficiency on assigned tasks.
  • Assigns and ensures timely completion of tasks by direct reports.
  • QGT/UCT Safety, Policy and Engineering Training.
  • Knowledgeable with Clean room protocols, and advanced Micro contamination knowledge.
  • Leads CAPA, FOI, FMEA investigation and presents to Customers.
  • OEM Platform and part knowledge.
  • Advanced Semiconductor Process (PVD, Etch, ALD, Diffusion, etc.).
  • Understands and will lead advanced statistical analysis/SPC.
  • Schedules and tracks engineering projects/quotes to ensure timely completion.
  • Liaises with personnel in the customer service function to ensure effective customer engineering support is provided.
  • Directs personnel in product improvement to reduce material costs and manufacturing labor content.
  • Directs personnel to ensure Copy Exact procedures and practices are maintained and implemented.
  • Directs personnel to ensure all equipment and manufacturing operations meet required safety standards.
  • Directs personnel in the provisions of test procedures and fixtures for manufacturing product.
  • Appraises employees’ performance in accordance with established company policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Experience Requirement:

  • 4-8 years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
